It’s been a while since I was out for a night walk in Amsterdam. A walk without a precise destination. A walk for the sake of it.
With crowds out of sight and nothing to trouble me from contemplating, the absolute beauty of the city’s heart revealed itself to me like never before.
I walked along quiet canals, crossed arched bridges, and looked at pretty houses with lights at the window. It all looked so cosy in the crisp, autumn air.
I understood why some say Amsterdam’s the most beautiful city in the world.
