This past weekend has been so intense, that today it felt like Saturday, in spite of having to wake up early, go to work etc.
Mounting the prints for the “I am not a tourist” fair on Saturday and then spending the entire Sunday at the event itself has been really overwhelming. Maybe that`s because I have never attended a fair before, where I was the exhibitor rather than the visitor.
Many people visited Amsterdamming`s stand and this post is to thank them for the good energy and for the inspiration they gave me.
I am still smiling when I recall the words of Maarten from The Student Hotel regarding my photobook: “this looks just like the books they sell at Mendo!” Considering what an institution for photobooks this shop on the 9 Streets is, these words were nothing but honey to my ears.
And then this expat girl from Finland approaches me, all smiling, saying that my blog has been such an inspiration for her, to the extent that she considered moving to Amsterdam and study here. Which is exactly what she is currently doing.
As I said, overwhelming!
The experience would not have been complete without my friends, who, one by one, made their way to the Beurs van Berlage, to see me and show me their support. That meant a lot. I feel really grateful and happy for this.
So thank you all!
