August has been a really hectic month. No wonder I haven`t found any time to write about it until today!
When most people are away for holidays, relaxing on sunny beaches or traveling the world, we stayed in Amsterdam. That is because our number one event for this Summer was moving out of the old apartment where we had been living for the last couple of years and into our very own home.
Luckily, in between carrying furniture, sanding floors and painting walls, there was some (little) time left for relaxation and Summer enjoyment as well.
Here is a glimpse into these few moments of “peace”:
– Celebrating Gay Pride Boat Parade on August 1st and also having a very special reason to do so;
– Having Elena visiting Amsterdam for a couple of days and trying to squeeze in as many nice things as possible;
– My father came to the city to help us with the new apartment and having him here has been great; This is a brunch I prepared in early August to celebrate his name day;
– In between renovation works, we even managed to take my father to SAIL 2015 and together we admired the beautiful tall ships;
– We left the old apartment and neighbourhood overwhelmed by nostalgia and beautiful memories, but definitely looking forward to living into our new home.
While this might have been a rather unusual way to spend the end of Summer, I would do it all over again, with the renovation part most probably scheduled for another season! 🙂

Me too!!! When it\’s ready. 🙂
I guess my post on my first August in Amsterdam is going to be very similar to yours! So many things happened and I couldn\’t find the time to write…
I have just discovered your blog. Very nice!
Thank you!
i\’m a big fan of the Lastage as well. I lived there from 2007-2011 before moving to London for work. I still have an apartment on the Korte Keizersstraat.
