There are many places in Amsterdam which I like to share with family and friends when they come to visit.
However, some of these places are more special than others. They are, I must say, part of the reason why I live in this city.
When I took Nico to Prinseneiland for the first time – together with Amsterdamian – she was instantly mesmerized by the absolute cosiness and beauty of the island.
The little streets, the cute houses, the colorful boats and flowers to be seen almost everywhere and the totally laid back attitude of the inhabitants made her genuinely happy and willing to move there right away!
Sharing the same feelings for the Prinseneiland ever since I set foot on it years ago, Nico`s words of appreciation for this little paradise were honey to my ears.
It was hard to leave the island and return to the noise of the city – something that this tranquil location seems to know nothing of.
But we made a promise to return soon.
