Not long ago, I was writing this post about why the Eastern part of Amsterdam makes a great area to live in.
I am now coming back to this subject as I do believe that the East is becoming the new West! And by this I mean that the East is catching up in coolness with that part of the city which is currently considered the trendiest: the West.
Besides, the East has the advantage of being a very architecturally diverse area and – even better – it is not exactly a hotspot for the tourist crowds.
These being said, I now invite you to take a look at this “mood board” I made, so that you get into the special atmosphere that only the Eastern parts of Amsterdam can offer.
Enjoy!

Reeeeeally want to go to Brouwerij \’t IJ 🙂
You\’d loveit, bitterballen. We first spotted it from afar, farther East as we were walking to the IISG (Social History Institute and Library). Taking silly photos with the silly \”Dutch windmill\” in the background. And it is a pleasant place, with very good beer (and although I\’m far more of a wine-drinker, I really enjoyed my beer).
