20+ degrees in October is considered heaven in Amsterdam! That`s because the laid back atmosphere and the cosiness this city is so well known for go hand in hand with a generous amount of sunshine. And we`ve had plenty of it today!
Finding a free bench on the terrace of a restaurant in Jordaan at lunch time on a sunny Saturday was pure happiness, especially when this bench was facing the sun! “Enjoy your day in the sunshine, darling! It goes perfectly with a nice glass of wine, doesn`t it?” – some guy said to me with a perfect British accent while hopping on the bike together with his boyfriend.
Everyone seemed to be having a great time and that was definitely including me!
Two glasses of wine later, there we were having lunch at this same restaurant – La Perla -, followed by a cup of ice cream at what I consider to be the most crowded ice cream shop in Amsterdam: Monte Pelmo. There is simply always somebody waiting in the line here. 🙂
It was hard to leave the Jordaan at the end of this amazing sunny afternoon. While walking along the Egelantiersgracht – one of the most beautiful canals in the area – we could not help but stop every now and then to take some photos of the beauty surrounding us. Here they are:
