I`m starting to realise that I spend my weekends in Amsterdam the way I`d spend them if I were visiting any other city: a lot of walking and sightseeing, plenty of photos, visiting cute shops – to mention just a few of the similarities.
This weekend has been even more special, as my sister is here (visiting me since two weeks ago), so we enjoyed every second of it together.
Our Saturday started with a nice brunch at Puccini, a place that – as my sister noticed – although frequented by tourists as well, has managed to keep its standards high. This means their sandwiches and tarts are just as delicious as always:
The brunch was followed by a walk along the Zwanenburgwal, a nice peaceful street between the Amstel an the Waterlooplein area. The flowers were still in bloom:
Eventually, we reached Westerpark area, where the Autumn seemed to have arrived sooner than in any other part of Amsterdam:
Our destination was actually the UNSEEN Photo Fair Amsterdam 2014, held at the Westergasfabriek:
Some three hours later, it was about time to leave Westerpark and head towards the Jordaan to visit my friend Gabi into her new apartment. We`ve spend some really good times there, having dinner together and browsing Gabi`s baby photo albums:
We were back home just in time for some well deserved cosiness with music, tea and – OK, I have to admit! – some photo editing:
Sunday started at 10:30 on the sound of the alarm clock. Soon after, the entire house was smelling like fresh coffee – made by my sister, together with some breakfast for two:
As the previous day was entirely dedicated to il dolce far niente, it was about time for some grocery shopping at my favourite organic shop in Amsterdam – Marqt:
There is this amazing Italian ice cream and chocolate place on Utrechtsestraat and I wanted to take my sister there for a treat. The shop was unfortunately closed, but at least we had a nice walk along this beautiful street:
Dille & Kamille (which translates to “Dill & Chamomile”) is one of my favourite Dutch shops to buy table ware and other things for the house, so we had to pay a visit as I never seem to have enough cute cups and plates at home:
While we found no ice cream on Utrechtsestraat, there was plenty of delicious carrot cake at De Drie Graefjes! And that`s exactly where our Sunday afternoon stroll ended:
How was your weekend? Would love to hear you enjoyed it just as much as I did!

Oh, how I love that little black cat!
You have a fine sense of colour and composition.
