I was indeed expecting Rome to be a beautiful city, but when Italians proved to be some of the friendliest and most polite people I`ve known, well, this has come as a very pleasant surprise!
While I was imagining some angry people, crazy drivers and cars not letting you cross the street, all these couldn`t have been further from the truth. What I`ve seen was actually a happy city, with people looking content and smiling for no reason, relaxed, always willing to help and communicate and simply in mood for enjoying life.
That is why, in a city full of tourists at this time of the year, I have tried to escape the crowds as much as possible and find some peace in more quiet places, where the people living in Rome like to go to, maybe with a similar purpose.
Giardino degli Aranci (Garden of Orange Trees) is one of these places. We came here to see the sun setting over Rome and I`m very happy we did it:
