The Canal Parade part of Amsterdam Pride is my favourite celebration in the city. Not only because of its humane purpose of celebrating love and diversity, but because Amsterdam itself seems to become a friendlier, more united and more permissive place for a few hours.
In such circumstances, even the empty cans of beer floating on canals and the men peeing on trees because of too long waiting lines at toilets – both of them very rare sights in a disciplined city like Amsterdam – become acceptable side effects of freedom.
In between two beers I managed to take some photos while watching the boats parading on the Prinsengracht.

Awesome pics! They totally convey the spirit of the whole celebration.
