Our four-day trip to Copenhagen marked my first time ever in Scandinavia. I really didn’t know what to expect from the city other than minimalist design, bikes, specialty coffee and cinnamon buns. Given its proximity to water, I also thought it would feel a bit like Amsterdam.
I was wrong. Copenhagen has its unique charm. What I loved the most is that it feels cosmopolitan and cosy at the same time. I enjoyed its wide avenues with upscale shops and beautiful residential buildings, just as much as I liked walking along the narrow, cobblestone streets in its old centre, with small cafes and typical Danish restaurants behind colourful facades dating back to the 15th century.
Whether you find yourself in the centre – where the photos in this post are taken – or in one of the neighbourhoods – to follow in future posts – there is a feeling of space and easiness about this city I find extremely delightful!
