It was hard to leave Ioana`s house in Amsterdam West this Friday evening, after a nice and long dinner together.
Not because it was cold and rainy outside, but because the house itself is a trully magical place, where two blonde children with genuine Romanian names were speaking my mother tongue (Romanian) with the sweetest Dutch accent, filling the rooms with joy and with proofs of their creativity.
The garden, although impossible to use on such rainy evening, is another beautiful story. I can only imagine what an amazing place it is to spend a sunny day, lounging on one of the chairs, your feet on the grass!
Apart from the garden and the overall cosy and welcoming feeling that Ioana`s home exudes, my favourite thing about this house are the two glass squares on the living room`s floor, which “connect” this area with the children`s bedroom and their playing room downstairs.
And these are just a few of the details that make this house such a beautiful home, a place so very hard to leave. 🙂
