My memories of Rome (better said, of the weekend spent there recently) revolve around the following: wonderful weather, impressive architecture, delicious food, interesting-to-watch people, lively neighbourhoods with well kept secrets and extremely crowded touristic areas which we tried to avoid as much as possible.
Having said this, it is easy to guess that Rome is not an easy place to be for somebody with a passion for photography, such as my boyfriend and I. This is because at every step you take, you feel the need to capture all the beauty unfolding in front of your eyes in the most natural way.
So here are some of my favourite shots from the weekend in Rome, grouped by the themes mentioned in the beginning of this post! Enjoy!
Wonderful sunny days at beginning of October
It`s hard not to love Rome when the sun is shining on the sky all day long! Coming from rainy Amsterdam, sunny days are definitely to be cherished and we`ve had plenty of them on this occasion as well.
Impressive Roman architecture
Gazing at the beautiful and colourful buildings is one of my favourite things to do when in Rome. I simply cannot get enough of all this beauty! No wonder I took so many photos on this subject. 🙂
Delicious food and drinks:
Simple and fresh ingredients combined in the most natural way – this is how I`d describe italian cuisine, one of my favourite in the whole world! And have I mentioned the ice cream? Absolutely amazing, especially when you can have one late at night, from a gelateria in Monti (my favourite neighbourhood in Rome)!
Stay tuned for the next posts on Rome, when I am going to share with you photos of my favourite neighbourhoods in the city (Monti and Testaccio) – as opposed to the touristic areas – as well as some of my favourite shots of the beautiful people of Rome!
