The first edition the Amsterdam Coffee Festival happened this weekend at the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam Noord to the big delight of all those who love coffee and could not imagine a single day without this magic drink!
During the event, the coffee connaisseurs had the chance to learn – from the best baristas in Europe – about the latest products and trends in the field and, most important, about those things that may turn the simple act of having a coffee into a great experience.
However, the best part was that everybody was offered coffee, as much as one could drink! And there were plenty of blends and brands to choose from, that is for sure. We tried Bocca (which we liked the most) and Boot.
Add some live music, some “street” food (veggie burgers, sushi, Indonesian specialties, waffles, tarts, ice cream etc.) and some delicious coffee cocktails and the result can only be a good one.
We`ve definitely enjoyed our time at the Amsterdam Coffee Festival and the fact that the venue was NDSM wharf made the whole experience even better.
For those of you who do not know, NDSM (“Nederlandse Droogdok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij”, meaning “Dutch Dock and Shipbuilding Company”) used to be, in the old days, the largest shipyard in Amsterdam. Nowadays, NDSM is a creative hotspot at the Northern bank of the IJ river, its massive hangars hosting all kind of events where creativity and art are the main subjects.
