Flevopark has been sort of a magic land to me ever since our first encounter. I wrote about it before and I am pretty sure I used the same words, simply because it`s the only way to describe it.
Situated on a rather remote place, towards the East end of the city, Flevopark is far from being a touristic attraction, which leaves place for serenity and beauty. A lot of beauty!
Mesmerized by the beautiful weather here in Amsterdam, on Wednesday, right after work, we organized a picnic, which was cancelled on the last minute because of high chances of rain. But, since the picnic happened anyway (because we brought the blanket, the food and the bottle of sparkling wine), we ended up by calling it a “cancelled picnic” while enjoying all the cherries, peaches, the baguette, the olives and everything else available.
When the food was gone, we packed everything and moved to the terrace at Distillery, which is probably one of the most “zen” places in the entire city. Of course, it depends what you are looking for… And, if you`re looking for some peace, then Distillery is the answer.
So we ended the middle of the week in the nicest way, watching the sun setting above the lake and leaving Distillery only when the gates were closing. I wish all evenings could be like this..
