Bucharest is a city like no other. Some say it looks a bit like Paris, some others – a bit like Berlin.
I can only describe it as a city of contrasts, where the good and the bad come together almost naturally to create a unique feeling.
And it is this particular feeling – which I would call the spirit of Bucharest – that you best feel when you leave behind the noise of the main avenues and take a walk down its quiet, almost hidden streets.
Here you can still admire beautiful old houses built in the traditional Romanian style in a time when house was similar to home, which survived both the beautiful and the tormented times in the history of Bucharest.
I think the photos say it all.
