Sinterklaas wrote me a poem:
(Dear Alexandra),
Je bent best aardig
(You are quite nice),
Maar ook een beetje merkwaardig
(But also a bit strange).
Doe dan lekker deze witte badjas aan
(Put this beautiful white bathrobe on)
Hij zal je vast en zeker prachtig staan
(It should certainly look good on you).
Je krijgt van Sint blawe laarzen en een tas
(You get from Saint blue boots and bag)
Je bent de coolste van de klas
(You are the coolest from the class).
Kwaliteitsfotos zal je nemen, heel gewaagd
(Should you take quality photos, (it would be) very daring)
Met de camera die je hebt gevraagt
(With the camera that you have asked for).
Tja, elke parfumfles die je kreeg
(Yeah, every bottle of perfume that you get)
Is altijd al na twee keer leeg
(Is always empty after used twice).
This is the little poem that Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) wrote me, of course after taking into consideration my wishlist, which I had previously sent to him!
Actually, everyone from the Dutch class wrote his/hers wishes on a list that was randomly given to someone else from the class, who, based on the wishes, had to make a poem for that particular person.
On my wishlist, I asked for a fluffy white bathrobe, a bottle of perfume, a pair of blue boots and a blue bag to match them and, lastly but not least, I asked for a professional photo camera!
The person who randomly chose my letter for Sinterklaas was Adriana, so, eventually, she was the one who had to write me a poem. Lucky me!
